A few years ago, everyone was so obsessed with straight-up makeup. I’m sure everyone had that phase where they wouldn’t step out of the house with a completely made up face! Now, the game has changed and skincare is where it’s at. After all, you can do the best makeup look once your canvas is looking amazing.
When choosing the best skincare for your skin type, it’s not really about brand or price, but the effectiveness of the product and the way your skin reacts to it. I have tried tons of pricey skincare as well as affordable ones, and what works for you will work for you.
My latest love is Tata Harper Skincare! So many beauty bloggers and vloggers swear by these products. I was curious and wanted to try out their products for myself. Tata Harper uses natural, raw ingredients from all over the world to create effective products. They are non-toxic bioactive botanicals that many have seen real results with.
I’m happy to report that many of their stuff has worked so well on me, and I will definitely get good use from them in the months to come! There were some misses I could do without. Since this brand has been talked about so much in the local beauty scene, I thought I’d share my experience with the products I’ve tried out.
Clarifying cleanser: I am obsessed with this cleanser ever since the first time I’ve used it! I’ve seen that my skin has improved with this product in terms of oiliness and acne without drying completely drying it out.
Clarifying mask: Like the cleanser, I’ve seen my skin improve tons with this product. When I feel like my skin is oilier than usual or I’m breaking out, I’ll use this mask and my acne dries faster.
Regenerating cleanser: I don’t recommend using this everyday as it comes off a bit strong. This is an exfoliating cleanser that works wonders, but it’s not suitable for sensitive skin.
Clarifying moisturizer: I like this product because it’s lightweight which is good for the humid Philippine weather! The smell is not for everyone though. It smells sort of “farm-y,” almost like fresh greens. I’m not sure how to else describe it but I’d rather stay away from skin care products that are heavily scented. If you are okay with this, then by all means try it!
Rejuvenating serum: This serum leaves my skin feeling refreshed, smooth and bright. I was very happy to see the effects of glowy, even-toned skin after using this.
Floral hydrating mask: I feel like there is a cheaper alternative for this mask, and possibly another product that may have a better effect. Then again, we can react differently to certain products, so this may work for you, but it didn’t do it for me.
Concentrated brightening essence: The concentrated brightening essence did work in terms of brightening, but I don’t recommend it if you live in humid countries like the Philippines. It leaves my skin looking insanely oily, so I only use it at night.
What’s the biggest drawback? I’ll come right out and say it–price. This skincare line is so pricey, but their products are incredibly concentrated compared to other comparable ones in the market, and trust me. They. Work. Wonders. I use all sorts of skincare from affordable to pricier ones and I’m always happy to try something new that has something more to offer! 🙂
Tell me all about your fave products! I’m currently on the lookout for a good hydrating mask and a pore minimizing or clarifying mask. Maybe you have some recommendations? Drop me a line in the comments below, or tell me about it on Instagram!
