We’re a few months late, but over the weekend, we got together with our family and friends to celebrate Kai’s first birthday and Christening!

As I’ve shared with you guys in the past, we chose his name because Kai means “the sea” or “the ocean” in some languages. Because of this, and the fact that the ocean is our happy place as a family, we decided for an Ocean-themed party for Kai’s first big celebration!

I promise you, we wanted this party to be simple and fuss-free. But since I’m a stickler for the little details, many things were coordinated to keep our guests and family happy. I’d like to think both adults and kids enjoyed spending the afternoon with us celebrating Kai!

To keep our guests full and happy, we had wonderful spreads and food carts from Naked Patisserie, Mr Churros PH, Lemon Drops PH, Tako Bar Manila, R Freezy, Puffles PH, Cheesecake Stix, Sainte Anne Creperie, and Meats and Company.

And to make sure everyone was feeling cool that day, a freezer full of Magnum was available to our guests, so they could snack on any flavor they choose. (Have you tried the new Salted Caramel Macadamia one yet?)

We had the most incredible giveaways from so many suppliers that helped bring our vision into reality: Arteegram Manila, Crayolove, Heart and Soul Philippines, Prints R Us, Bottled Up PH, and NC Perfume Bar. They set up a corner filled with “Kai’s Treasures” that was a cute addition to the decor of the day. We especially loved the shark bean bag giveaways that were so fun and a really unique idea for a loot bag!

The kids were kept busy with a few choice activities throughout the day, which included face painting and an inflatable playhouse! We’re very grateful to Kael’s Adventure Land, Ashna Star Designs, and K Designs for helping us with this. Kai’s still too little to fully enjoy the inflatable playhouse, but Zion and his cousins definitely had a good time on it.

Kai’s amazing cake was by Honey Glaze Cakes, and our sumptuous dessert buffet was by One Sweet Day PH.

It’s been a few days since all the festivities, and while we celebrated his birthday a few months later, mainly to coincide with a thanksgiving for his baptism, I’m glad we did Kai’s birthday in the best way. First birthdays can get really overwhelming, but it’s wonderful to see all these photos and look back on everything that happened. We’re also very thankful to Nice Print Photography and Charisma Lico for all the dreamy photos from the day.

A big thanks also goes to Tita Annabelle, the ultimate party planner! She has always been so helpful in sourcing party suppliers, coordinating events, and the like. Her apos are really loved. A huge thanks also to Party Station Philippines who made the planning process as smooth as possible, and created a lovely decorated venue for everyone to enjoy. I mean, look at those dolphins!

It goes without saying that I love my boys a lot and would give the world to them if I could! I hope that my bungisngis baby Kai grows up to be strong, happy, and healthy. I look forward to many more years of celebrating these milestones with them. 🙂
