Malapascua Island in Cebu is one of the most breathtaking tourist destinations in the region. So many people come back to this place because of its rich and diverse marine life.
I’ve had so many great visits to Malapascua in the past. As I have mentioned quite a few times in previous blogs, Chard and I love to go diving when we get the time to do so. Malapascua is home to one of the greatest diving areas in the Philippines that even foreigners are willing to go through the travel time just to get here.
Because Malapascua is so special to us that we even spent our holidays here, we wanted to do something to give back. We have been so blessed this year, and the holiday is a time of giving, so we decided to hold a small sharing with the residents of the island.
Thanks to the giving hearts of great friends, we were able to distribute school supplies and hygiene kits. To get them even more into the holiday spirit, we even had some food sharing and gave toys to the kids.
It was no easy feat to try to plan something like this during the holidays, but I am so glad that so many friends and family members pitched in to donate these important items. I am also doubly thankful to Bench and Close Up for their generosity.
Chard, Zion, and I distributed the gifts ourselves, and seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces made this trip well worth the effort. I truly hope we were able to make their Christmas a little bit happier.
